Earlier last year, eBay changed the way it display completed auctions – an invaluable tool for many sports card collectors. With this change, eBay made it more difficult to see both the most recent completed sales and best offer prices accepted.
Our wonderful friends at sortsof.com have devised a very slick and simple website to now search and compare numerous eBay auctions at once.
The site allows you to search for any items for sale on eBay’s regular site. Unlike eBay, sortsof.comthen allows for you to do another search and compare the results side-by-side. Within the search results you are able to filter by completed auctions and see final prices on best offers and auctions.
This tool has changed the way I search for items on eBay. I can now easily search and compare a number of sports card at once, versus having multiple browser tabs open on my machine. Best off all, the data is all real-time, so you can see completed sales as they happen and you don’t have to wait the 24-hours eBay places on their site for the sales data to appear.
Check them out and start changing your eBay habit.
Yesterday, Panini announced an interesting tidbit regarding their upcoming 2012 Panini Prizm Football release. In addition to the base 100 rookies in the set, there are 25 players who appear on hobby-exclusive, photo-variation RCs that fall one per box on average.
This years release of Contenders Football marks the 20th anniversary of the set. Over the last 20 years, this set has included some of the most iconic rookie cards in the hobby, with each year passing the cards becoming more desirable and collectible.
With the rookie crop that we have had in 2012 mixed with the milestone set for Contenders, we think that this is going to be a very hot product.
The set is going to consist of 100 base cards, and 100 Rookie Ticket Autographs. 35 of those Rookie Ticket Autographs will be players who attended this years Rookie Photo Shoot. Each box will contain at least 5 autographs, with two of them being on-card RPS Rookie Ticket Autographs. I am guessing that players to be included in the on-card RPS Rookie Tickets will be:
Without a doubt, I am sure that Panini will include some type of gimmick in the set for either short print rookie tickets or alternative photo rookie ticket autographs, much like they have done in the past.
We are on the heels of one of the most anticipated Football releases each year. 2012 Topps Chrome Football appears as if will it not disappoint, like many of its previous years releases.
The 2012 rookie class is off to a red-hot start in this young NFL season, which is helping amplify the release of this product that appears to feature 45 different rookie card autographs. To date, Topps has confirmed 35 of those rookie autographs for the set. They include:

Here is a small sneak peek at some of the Andrew Luck Chrome Autos from the set including the all new prism refractor for this year.
According to Topps sell sheet, then only listed a base, blue /250, orange /25 and red /10 and plates for the much anticipated Bryce Harper autographs inserted in the 2011 Bowman Baseball product.
Today, this popped up on eBay, serial numbered to 55:
Here is a photo showing the odds for 2011 Bowman Baseball retail packs. Looks like autos are going to fall 1:18 and the Harper auto will be 1:2600. Here are all of the odds:
After 162 games, and exciting NLCS and ALCS series, the 2010 World Series is set. Texas vs San Francisco. It’s no surprise that some of the most exciting players from these two teams make up our final installment of Hot List for Baseball for 2010.
According to Bryce Harper’s Facebook profile, he may forgo his #1 Draft pick status and return to the College of Southern Nevada to pursue a Junior College National Championship.
On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, Harper posted:
“Probably going back to CSN to try to win a National Championship!!! :)”
I admire his passion to win a National Championship, but I think at this point he has nothing left to prove at the JuCo level and is only risking injury, or worse case scenario, a career by returning to CSN.
What ever you choose Bryce, good luck with your decision.
