We live in a very digital age, with so much of our lives details and information now stored online. The team at SportsCardsList.com have set out to add another part of your life online: Your Sports Card Collection.

SportsCardsList.com has made it easy for collectors to create a FREE account and create lists of information about their collections. I have seen a number of lists around collectors personal collections, sets they are trying to finish and just general trade/wants.

I have the site so easy to use that after about 30 minutes I had a majority of my sets added to the site and shared out to other sites, so others could see what cards I was missing or needed. SportsCardsList.com features a very robust search engine designed around either specific players or sets – so no matter what your collecting focus is, you are able to fine tune your search results for to add cards or sets to your lists with ease.

From talking to the creators of SportsCardsList.com, they have future plans to add a trading mechanism to the site so users are able to contact and communicate with other collectors who may have a card they need.

Great work on the site, and I can see a lot of big things on the horizon for SportsCardsList.com. Be sure to tell them that Dailywax.com sent you!

Exactly One Year Later – Blake Griffin is back

Exactly one year ago, NBA fans were eagerly awaiting the regular season debut of the 2009 No. 1 overall draft pick of the Los Angeles Clippers, Blake Griffin. It was the team’s final preseason game and Griffin had looked great during the preseason, averaging 13.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

Then disaster struck.

On what appeared to have been a routine dunk, when Griffin landed, he broke his kneecap. This injury sidelined him for the entire 2009-10 season and set-back the start to what appeared to be a star-studded career for Griffin.

Fast forward to yesterday, one-year after the injury, surgery, and rehab – Blake was back. The anticipation of making his regular season debut must have been building up, as Griffin exploded for 20 points and 14 rebounds in the game.

The Hype is Building

With the hype building around the potential of Griffin, and his ability to show that he has came back stronger and very determined, a lot of cards have seen an exponential increase in price. Griffin has the greatest room for growth out of the star-packed 2009-10 rookie class, added to playing for a large media market in Los Angeles makes for a very potent formula to ensure a great return on investment for people looking to flip his cards.

Here is a small glimpse at some of Griffin’s best rookie cards from last year:

Without a doubt, Derrick Favors has taken the award for having the worst autograph in this history of sports card autographs. This title, previously held by Chris Johnson (Titans), and Lawrence Timmons, were tough competition to top as previous Worst Autograph Title Holders, but as you can see by the sheer apathetic approach Favors took to signing his cards, he was an easy selection.

Congrats to Derrick, I am sure you worked long and hard to achieve this prestigious award.

Riding on the heels of Olympic record 8th gold medal, the boy wonder, Michael Phelps has ignited a fire in the sports cards scene as well. Collectors are frantically searching for the 2004 Leaf Football Fan’s of the Game Autographed insert from Phelps, which in the last week its price has surpassed its weight in Gold.

This card has shot up in price over the past week of the Olympics, reaching monumental highs of $850-$1000. Prior to the Olympics, this card could be picked up for around 1/5 of those prices.

I have not found any numbers on total circulation or production.
